Presentation Description: IEA Wind Task 43 has developed an open-source data model for pre-construction meteorological data to enhance the digitization of industry processes. The model provides a standard way to describe wind and solar measurement campaigns, covering instrumentation, calibration, deployment, tower mounting, RSD components, for both onshore & offshore measurements. The new release of the data model will now include support for modeled data such as reanalysis or WRF downscaling and metocean data where a buoy is deployed without a lidar. The data model will document the configuration of a measurement station and how these configurations change over time. Therefore, all data for a wind analyst to perform a resource assessment is all in one place. The standardized and digital nature of the model, also enables the seamless transfer of this data from one organisation to another, such as from developer to an Independent engineer ( or other 3rd party ) , improving the resource assessment process for everyone in the process. Wind farm Deployment and process time are critical factors for business success and global decarbonization efforts. This data model demonstrates how process time can be reduced with standardized data description and transfer within industry workflows. This presentation provides an overview of the data model, user case studies/benefits, new offshore capabilities and a list of the many organizations who have adopted the model.
