Derek Roberts plays a cross-functional roll supporting technical analysis and project management in DNV’s Measurements section. He has over ten years of experience designing, spec’ing, deploying, and managing environmental sensor systems in aquatic, marine, and meteorological applications. He currently manages and supports power performance testing installations (lidar and meteorological masts) and analysis for onshore and offshore wind energy projects across North America. Prior to joining DNV, he worked as a research scientist and project manager deploying fluid flow and water quality sensors to understand hydrodynamic processes and their impact on aquatic and marine ecosystems. Mr. Roberts holds PhD and MS degrees in Environmental Fluid Mechanics from the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.
